If you were to ask “the other woman,” why do men cheat I wonder what she would say.
The scandal of infidelity can hit any marriage if the spouses don’t do their parts to make it work.
The unfortunate thing is that many Christian women expect a dream marriage without putting forth the effort. They think God will do all the work and everything will be okay. Then when the marriage relationship doesn’t meet their expectations they tend to drift away from the marriage, either mentally, emotionally, or physically.
As a result, other things and/or people become a higher priority than our husbands. We stop doing some of the things it takes to maintain a good marriage and we instead settle for a mediocre relationship, hoping things will change.
But in some cases, they don’t and they may even get worse. One of the results can be a husband’s infidelity.
Then the wife begins to ask questions such as:
- Why do men cheat?
- Why wasn’t I good enough?
- What did she have that I didn’t have?
God expects us as Christian women to do our parts to safeguard our marriages against adultery. We can do something to help our husbands resist the sin of infidelity.
