Jingle bells, white snow, quietness, shorter days, and longer nights. When your marriage goes through its winter storm, it’s tempting to say things such as:
“Help, I want a divorce.”
“We need a break from each other”
“I don’t love you like I used to!”
Why? Because during the winter months of marriage, everything seems to be at a standstill: communication, passion, sex, and all the others things that should bring pleasure, but don’t seem to work right at the time.
This is when you should look past your circumstances and feelings to press into God even more. In your marital seasons of dullness, and maybe even loneliness, God’s grace will give you the strength to love your husband with passion and overcome the circumstances of your winter season.
